　　HighQuality Rice Core Germplasm Breeding Team

　　There are 10 team members. We have focused on cultivating high-quality rice varieties for more than 30 years. The team has won 4 awards for scientific and technological achievements, including 2 first prizes of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award and 2 first prizes of Ministerial Science and Technology Award. So far, 106 new rice varieties (combinations) have been bred, including Huanghuazhan, Meixiangzhan No. 2, Wushansimiao, Huazhan, etc., which have passed the national or provincial approval 170 times, with a cumulative planting area of 300 million mu. We have obtained 3 protection rights of new plant varieties, 1 invention patent of a breeding method, 1 copyright of breeding software, and 1 invention patent of a utility model. In the past five years, we have undertaken a number of major projects: 2 sub-projects of National High-Tech R&D Program of China ( 863 Program ), 2 Regional Joint Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, 2 Bill &Melinda Gates Foundation projects, 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund projects, and 1 Guangdong application special project. In the future, we will continue to cultivate more high-yield, high-quality, and disease-resistant varieties to meet the needs of the country and the people.
